If you like bananas and wouldn’t mind foregoing the peeling process, then banana water may be a type of plant water you want to consider. All you weight-conscious readers should be forewarned, however, that just because it’s called water doesn’t mean it’s calorie free—it’s not.

In addition to 422 mg of potassium and 32 mg of magnesium, eating a banana gives you 3.1 g of fiber, 1 g of protein, 22 percent of your Daily Value of vitamin B6, and 16 percent of manganese. Do you need to choose between a real banana and banana water?
For banana lovers, there is a place for both in your diet. However, if you are watching your weight, it’s recommended you be aware of the calories you consume in beverages, as they can add up quickly and sabotage your weight loss efforts.
